Get Your OS

Hi guys..
This post is about the most basic spec of a mobile phone i.e. OPERATING SYSTEM. The ever increasing competition between mobile companies and the sudden boom in their numbers has led to a sort of tech revolution. All companies fight hard to make their product better than others with the given cost factor. This often creates a confusion among people while buying a phone. I'm there to help you out.
Let's find out which OS suits you

OPERATING SYSTEM  :- This is the most important factor for a phone. You need to decide which OS suits your needs. We majorly have a choice between Android, Windows and iOS. But when it comes to low or middle range phones, we are left with Android and Windows. So whats the best for you among these two. Here are a few tips.

  1. ANDROID :- Android is currently the most used OS in the world. Basically, Android is a Linux build and it offers way more customization options than other mobile OS. It works on opensource Linux kernel and gives the best user interface(UI). Phones may have either STOCK android or CUSTOM android. Stock android is the basic and the most raw form of android while custom ones have some modifications and have a different UI built on them. Some examples of custom UI are ZenUI from Asus, touchwiz from Samsung and MiUi from Xiaomi. With more modifications, the customizability of OS decreases. So, Stock android offers maximum customization. Custom ones take up a lot of RAM. So, they work best on phones with atleast 2GB of ram. Although I don't prefer custom UIs, some of them like ZenUi and MiUi offer a great interface. Most of the mobile phone companies packing their devices with android offer android upgrades to the next TWO versions of the OS (may differ from company to company). This OS offers the largest play store with innumerable apps and hundreds being added every day. Android provides the most out of your phone. It would be the best OS for you if you want to make your phone your best companion with numerous apps and games.

  2. WINDOWS :- Windows is the OS from Microsoft. It is a great OS in terms of performance and memory management. Windows OS works great even with 512mb of RAM. Performance wise, a win phone with 512MB RAM performs equivalent to an android phone with 1GB of RAM. The UI is really great and different from Android and iOS UI. It offers very little customization as compared to android. Its unique UI adds a bit of professional touch to the phone. It has a very smooth and stable UI and is very easy to use.It gives the best experience if you have a Windows PC i.e. phone can be paired with your PC and both of them can be managed with a single Microsoft account. The interface is very clean and great although customization options are less. The only thing it lacks is a great app store. It has almost a tenth of number of apps as compared to android. Surely, Microsoft is working on it and we have seen a substantial increase in the number of apps and games but still it has miles to go.The best part of windows OS is that all the devices get each and every update. There are high expectations from the newest version Windows 10 (yet to be released). This version may see a sudden boom in the number of Windows users. If you are ok with the less number of apps and want the best performance then Windows is the best OS. One day we'll surely see windows appstore comparable to the android one.

CONCLUSION

Both the OS are great. It is completely dependent on your needs. A professional person who requires performance and not so much into apps and games should go for WINDOWS. If you are more into spending more time on your phone then ANDROID suits you better

Hope this helps.
Thankyou..
